Due to the upcoming amendment of the EN 124531) standard, various GfA products will be adapted as of mid-November 2019. These products will then meet the requirements of the standard. The door controls TS 959, TS 970, TS 971 and TS 981 (①), the wired (②) and wireless door leaf boxes (③) for safety edges as well as various door safety switches (④) are adapted. Detailed descriptions of the adjustments are available starting on page 2.
The safety functions implemented in the door control must at least correspond to performance level c (PLc) according to EN ISO 13849-1. This means that the safety devices connected to the door control, such as pass-door switches (⑤) and slack rope switches (⑥) require monitoring for cross faults. This is achieved by a resistor evaluation according to the following overview.
The hardware of the TS door controls will be modified slightly. The interface X2 (⑦) for the door safety switches is changed to resistor evaluation. A resistor of 5kΩ is now expected on terminals X2.1 and X2.2. The resistor (⑨) is factory-installed instead of a wire link (⑧). If the resistor is not present (e.g. in case of a short circuit, fault in the connected door safety switches or open safety circuit due to triggered slack-rope or pass-door switches), operating the door is not possible. A corresponding fault indication is displayed. To differentiate visually between the new and old door controls, the colour of the plugs installed on X2 has been changed from green to black (⑩). All TS door controllers also receive new software versions (⑪). The versions used are printed on the respective name plate. The new software versions are only required due to the resistor evaluation. The range of functions and the operation of the door controls remain unchanged.
The new slack-rope (23)- and pass-door switches (24) for resistor evaluation are expected to be available from the beginning of 2020. Previous versions without resistor evaluation will remain in the GfA product range for the time being.
