The last of three newly acquired double-spindle turning centers has now been put into operation at GfA Germany.
The worm shafts for the GfA gearbox’s are machined on the ultra-modern CNC machines; two spindles, with the respective tool turret and automatic workpiece transfer, allow for complete metal-cutting turning in one operation, before going onto the grinding and cold forming rolling machines.
The new machines work more efficiently, and importantly have a lower energy consumption coupled with a longer service life of the coolant/lubricant, which is a key ecological aspect. The new turning centers are part of GfA's continued modernization process in all divisions of the company.
